Job description

Instructing: Tailor classes to participants' ages, fitness levels, and any health concerns or injuries. Demonstrate proper technique and explain how to perform exercises and routines to help improve fitness and minimize injuries.

Assisting: Ensure participants are using correct techniques and equipment. Provide options during workouts to help participants feel successful.

Encouraging: Motivate participants to help them achieve their fitness goals.

Monitoring: Set up and monitor equipment, and ensure it's returned in good condition. Monitor techniques and equipment usage to ensure participant safety. Clean up space when class is completed.

Communicating: Explain techniques and movements clearly. Provide feedback to the class as a whole and to individuals. Answer questions from participants after each session.

Advising: Give advice on healthy lifestyles. Advise participants on program and class procedures and policies.

Job requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer
  • Current instructor certification (AFFA, NASM, ACE, Etc…)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Excellent knowledge of human anatomy and different fitness techniques
  • Ability to develop personalized fitness programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional certification in fitness instruction or physical education is preferred
  • A positive and motivating attitude
